20 mil for the price of 12. Here’s what you get.
A vapor barrier is the heavy liner that covers the dirt floor of your crawl space. It keeps ground moisture from getting into your home.
- Our minimum standard is 12 mil. That’s already thicker than the 10-mil industry standard. (A mil is one thousandth of an inch.)
- Our 20-mil barrier is puncture-resistant. Plumbers, HVAC techs and cable installers crawl across it on knees and elbows, dragging tools. 20 mil holds up.
- It’s not plastic sheeting. It’s virgin polyethylene resin: new material, not recycled, made in the USA. It won’t break down over time or give off chemical fumes (VOCs).
- You get the thicker 20-mil barrier for the thinner 12-mil price. That’s about $1,200 saved on a typical Southwest Missouri crawl space. Bigger crawl spaces save more. Smaller ones save less, but everybody saves.
- Need full encapsulation? The deal applies there too.
The fine print: Book your free evaluation by Dec. 15, 2026. Discount applies to the barrier material. No minimum job size. Can’t be combined with other discounts.

What’s under your house ends up in your house.
Warm air rises and escapes through the top of your home. It pulls air up from below to replace it. Testing reported in Home Energy magazine (PDF) found that roughly 40% of the air in homes with vented crawl spaces came from the crawl space.
So if your crawl space is damp, moldy or musty, that air is reaching your living room.

The real fix often goes beyond a barrier. Full encapsulation seals the floor, walls, piers and vents. Then a commercial dehumidifier keeps the space dry.
Scott will tell you which one your home needs.

Wet crawl space? Fix it before winter.
- When wet soil around your foundation freezes, it expands and pushes on the foundation. That can crack it.
- Water that gets into small cracks freezes and makes them bigger.
- Pipes in a cold, damp crawl space can freeze and burst.
The best time to find out what’s under your house is before the first hard freeze. Book by Dec. 15 to get the 20-mil upgrade.

We’re not in the business of creating repeat customers.
Scott Tetley spent years working for other mold remediation and restoration companies. Then he opened The Mold Gurus so he could control three things: the quality of the materials, the standard of the work, and how every customer is treated.
Every job is done to IICRC standards, the international standards for the restoration industry. It’s done completely, the first time, with no corners cut.
Scott often gets the call after a homeowner already paid someone else for work that wasn’t done right or wasn’t finished. “You shouldn’t have to pay twice,” Scott said.
